
For those who are unaware, there are a number of wildfires currently burning in Quebec, Canada. The smoke from those fires is drifting south to the United States, causing hazy skies and a decline in air quality.
Since wildfire smoke may pose health concerns to certain populations, the Warren County School District is following the recommendations based on air quality data provided by AirNow, the official U.S. Air Quality Index (AQI). The AQI is a color-coded index designed to communicate whether air quality is healthy or unhealthy for you and recommend steps to protect your health.
You may visit AirNow at www.AirNow.gov, enter your zip code, to see what the AQI value is.
The district and its schools will be following the recommendations based on the AQI through the remainder of the school year. Be aware that conditions may be different in different parts of the county.

The Warren County School District would like to send a heartfelt thank you to all of our teachers and school nurses on this Teacher Appreciation week and National Nurses week. Thank you for all you do for our students on a daily basis.


On behalf of the staff of Youngsville Elementary School, Youngsville Middle High School and Central Office, we would like to thank all the parents and guardians for their patience and understanding today with parent pick up due to the situation in the community. It went smoothly thanks to all of you. We have been advised that normal routines can be in place tomorrow.

Youngsville After School Activity information: The concert scheduled at Youngsville Elementary is postponed for this evening. There will be no 21st Century at Youngsville Elementary School nor Youngsville Middle High School after school. The baseball and softball games are being moved to the Legion Fields in Warren on Plumber Street. Reminder all students at the Youngsville schools will need to be picked up by a parent or emergency contact at the end of the school day. Please bring photo identification.

Without knowing if the threat is or will be contained by the end of school, we are planning for a dismissal completely by parent pick up. We are not comfortable allowing students to walk home or to walk from the bus to their homes. Buses will not be transporting students home from Youngsville Elementary School or Youngsville Middle High School today. Students will be dismissed to parents or emergency contacts with photo identification. All students will need to physically be signed out.

Youngsville Elementary School and Youngsville Middle/High School continue to remain in a Secure Lockout due to a potential police incident in the area. No one is permitted in or out of the buildings. Students are safe within the building and classes are occurring as normal with students moving within the building. If the situation remains as dismissal nears, additional communication will be sent out. Thank you for your understanding and support. Know that your children are safe and learning. In addition, the 3rd grade field trip to the Fair Grounds has been canceled.

All students entering grades 8 or 9 next year are invited to participate in the FREE Warren County Career Center summer enrichment program. The WCCC will hold two separate one week programs - Week one will run from June 12 to June 16 and
Week two will run from June 19 to June 23. Students may choose one or two sessions. Hours of the program at 8:00 am - 12:00 pm Transportation and snacks are provided - FREE
