2025-2026 School Reconfiguration
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As part of the district’s ongoing efforts to support our students and families, we want to provide you with important information regarding the transition of students in grades 9-12 from Youngsville Middle High School to Eisenhower Middle High School and Sheffield Area Middle High School to Warren Area High School for the 2025-2026 school year.
In the coming weeks, the district will continue to share detailed information about this transition process, including scheduling updates, transfer procedures, transportation, athletics, and timelines. All relevant details will be made available on the district’s website for your convenience. We encourage you to regularly check the website for updates.
Central Office administration is collaborating closely with building principals to ensure that appropriate programs and resources are in place to support students throughout this transition. We understand that transitions like these can bring about many questions and concerns, and we are committed to making this process as smooth and supportive as possible for our students and families. The Central Office administration will be working toward the goal of having the students ready to go at their respective buildings at the start of school.
Thank you for your attention to these important matters. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact the district office.
Next Steps:
Students will be receiving scheduling packets for next year and will need to select the courses that they wish to take. The course selection sheets are similar to years past and course offerings will be based off of student selections and interests.
Families in the current Youngsville attendance area are automatically assigned to Eisenhower. In the resources below, there is a reconfiguration transfer request and procedure that explains the process. For any parents that are electing to send their child to Warren, this is due by February 14, 2025.
All other transfer requests will follow the normal transfer policy and procedures.
Administration will be using the course selection sheets and school assignments to determine courses being offered for next year and staffing.
If you are electing to transfer schools, please be aware of any athletic implications this may have. Students in the Youngsville area that are electing to go to Warren will need to be approved by District 10 and the PIAA as soon as possible. Once we have all transfer requests by February 14th, we will be submitting a list of student athletes for approval. We believe this should not be an issue, but the sooner we can submit the information the better.
Now that the board has approved the consolidation of the high schools, the next step is to move Youngsville middle school students back over to the elementary and officially close the building. That will require a similar timeline of events as the high school consolidation and will begin with a special board meeting this month to make a motion for a hearing on the matter.
Timeline of Events
January 27 – Special Board Meeting – A motion will be made by the board to have a hearing to move the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students to Youngsville Elementary School and rename the school the Youngsville Elementary Middle School. Also included in the motion will be action to officially close the Youngsville Middle High School building. A hearing will be scheduled after at least 15 days following the motion.
February – There will be a hearing scheduled to hear from the public on the motion above. Following the hearing there will be a 90-day period before the board can vote on the matter.
May – There will most likely be a special meeting held on the regularly schedule committee night to vote on the motion to move the Youngsville middle school students back to the elementary building and close the Youngsville high school.
