The nominations for the Northwest PA C.L.A.S.S. Act Emerging Leader for the 2024-2025 school year within the Warren County School District are presented to District Administration on a monthly basis and then presented to the IU #5 and ERIE NEWS NOW. Criteria for being selected for the Northwest PA C.L.A.S.S. Act Emerging Leader includes the following: • Effort – works hard and is persistent • Character through compassion, honesty, trustworthiness, optimism, and responsibility • Good citizenship • Demonstrates responsibility • Respectful to peers and teachers • Serves as a positive/influential representative of his or her school community WCSD NOVEMBER NOMINEE NOEL ALEXANDER – 12TH GRADE (WARREN) Warren Area High School would like to nominate Noel Alexander for the C.L.A.S.S. Act Emerging Leader for IU5. Noel exemplifies the C.L.A.S.S. characteristics both inside the school community and outside in the greater Warren community. Noel has been an excellent academic student at WAHS, taking a challenging courseload while being involved in numerous extracurricular activities. Noel has maintained an excellent GPA while taking AP and Honors level courses and being an officer for multiple organizations. Noel is an Merit-Honor level student with an excellent GPA, high class rank, and scored a 5 on multiple AP Exams last year. Noel was awarded with the College Board: National Rural and Small-Town Recognition Award and as an AP Scholar with Honors Award recipient. After high school, Noel plans on majoring in Biochemistry to prepare for a career in the medical field, with an interest in Endocrinology. In the building Noel serves as President of the Key Club (all four years), the Dragons Lens (student media organization), and Academic Quiz Bowl. In addition to these groups, Noel is also active with the Student Council all four year (Media Coordinator 11/12), Prom Committee, Battle of the Books, National Honor Society, and Spanish Club. Noel is well respected in the building by both peers and adults and is a model student to have in the building. Noel has worked as a Guidance Office worker, Library Aid, and Bio lab assistant in the building, giving her time in the building to assist teachers and the building as a whole. This fall, Noel was chosen by her peers as the 2024 Warren Area High School Homecoming Queen, a testament to her personal character and standing amongst her peers in the building. In addition to school sponsored activities, Noel has been involved in a number of organizations outside of school. She has participated with Molly Dies Dance Express, a competitive and very time demanding dance organization, and is the current captain of her team. She has worked for the past four years plus as a Teacher’s Assistant with Molly Dies Dance with the youth dancers. Noel is the Supervisor for the After School Program at St. Joseph's Catholic School and has held this position for the past three years and is the Literacy Teacher for ages 3-7 at St. Joseph's. Noel is an excellent representative for Warren Area High School, the city of Warren, and Warren County as a whole, and I hope that you will consider Noel for the C.L.A.S.S. Act Emerging Leader program.

Act Emerging Leader Award. Callan has demonstrated remarkable leadership and commitment throughout her high school career, excelling in various roles and activities. As Vice President of the Class, she has shown an extraordinary ability to collaborate, motivate peers, and lead with integrity. Her role as President of the Student Council further highlights her exceptional leadership skills, where she has successfully advocated for student interests and organized numerous events that have positively impacted our school community. In addition to her contributions to student government, Callan has been a dedicated member of the National Honor Society, serving as Vice President. She has maintained a rigorous courseload and attained a class rank of 4th overall. Her commitment to academic excellence and community service is evident in her active involvement and leadership within the society. As a Key Club Member for three years, Callan has consistently participated in and led various service projects, reflecting her dedication to community service and making a difference beyond the school environment. Callan has also made significant contributions to our school's social and extracurricular life. Her role on the Prom Committee demonstrated her creativity and organizational skills, contributing to the success of this major school event. Callan's participation in the PIAA Leadership Conference is another testament to her commitment to personal growth and leadership development. Athletically, she has been a cornerstone of our school's sports programs. Participating in Track and as Captain of the Girls Soccer Team for two years, she has displayed exceptional teamwork and leadership on the field. Her dedication is further showcased by her continuous involvement as a Cheerleader since the 7th grade, where she has been a source of spirit and support for our athletic teams. Callan embodies the qualities of a true leader: dedication, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to service. She is truly a "go to" student when it comes to getting things done in the school. Her accomplishments in academics, leadership, and extracurricular activities make her an exemplary candidate for the C.L.A.S.S. Act.

Michael is an intelligent, soft-spoken, kind young man who takes his academics and extra-curricular activities very seriously. As a student at Youngsville Middle High School, Michael challenges himself with College Preparatory, Honors, and Advanced Placement courses, while making exemplary grades in each of them. He currently sits at the top of his class with a class rank of 1/43 and GPA of 98.36, and also maintained this designation during both his freshman and sophomore years. Michael involved himself in school activities including Wrestling 4 years, National Honor Society since his Sophomore year, Class President during the 2023-2024 school year, six-year Marching Band Member where he serves as Drum Major during his Senior year and leader for 3 years. He also participated in District Orchestra his sophomore and junior years, and District and Regional Band his junior year. In addition, he has participated in the Envirothon Team his junior and senior year and the Clarion Math Competition throughout his high school career. Michael has also done the morning school announcements for the past two years, where he often enjoys adding a little personality of his own. In the community Michael is Junior Council Member for Youngsville Borough where he often provides his own personal insights during the meetings. He is a member of Boy Scouts where he earned his Eagle Scout. He is a Senior Patrol Leader and also participated in Cub Scouts in prior years, as well as Order of the Arrow for Boy Scouts, and Ordeal Chairman. Michael participates in karate, where he is a 2nd Degree Black belt, and has taught classes. Lastly, Michael works for Carnahan Construction during the summer months and Allegheny Outfitters, as needed. Youngsville Middle Senior High School is proud to nominate Michael Carnahan as the Northwest PA C.L.A.S.S. Act Emerging Leader for the month of September 2024.

Unified Indoor Bocce - Waren Area High School Registration for the 2024-2025 Unified Indoor Bocce winter season will be from October 21 - November 8, 2024. Registration will be completed using Arbiter Sports. (formally known as Family ID) at https://www.familyid.com/pages/home
