Warren Area High School will conduct a "Secure/Lockout" drill tomorrow, 9/19/24, at 10:00 a.m. During this drill, no student or visitor will be permitted entry/exit from the building barring an emergency while we practice this safety exercise. Please plan accordingly if needing to pick up a student around the time of the drill.

Every fall, Collegeboard and the Advanced Placement program recognizes high school students across the nation who have demonstrated outstanding college level achievement through their performance on multiple AP exams through the awarding of three different academic honors. The AP Scholar Award is granted to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams. AP Scholar with Honor is awarded to students who receive an average score of 3.25 on all AP exams taken AND scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. And finally, students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 of all AP exams taken AND scores of 3 or higher on five or more exams earn the AP Scholar with Distinction Award.

In 2023-24 the Office of Pupil Services (OPS) used the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime & Delinquency (PCCD) WCCC grant to provide WCCC students with access to a full-time drug and alcohol counselor. The OPS continued the drug & alcohol prevention counseling services to students in all schools for the 2024-2025 school year through another PCCD grant.
In an effort to continue offering vital drug and alcohol prevention services to our students, in February 2024 the OPS also arranged for a speaker to share his story. This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring a safe, healthy, and supportive environment for your children. Through this upcoming presentation students will have access to educational resources and activities designed to raise awareness about the risk of substance abuse. Our goal is to equip students with the knowledge and skills with making health decisions.
We are pleased to announce that on September 18, 2024, 6-7:30p.m. Warren Area High School auditorium the district is sponsoring a special presentation for parents, guardians, and community members featuring Stephen Hill, a renowned national speaker on mental health promotion and substance use prevention with a truly inspiring comeback story that everyone must hear.
Stephen is the founder of Speak Sobriety, a young person in recovery, bestselling author, recovery coach, and a defense attorney. He has presented in front of thousands of people for over 750 schools and coalitions across the country, sharing his cautionary tale of addiction to recovery and beyond.
Through sharing his lived experience, Stephen inspires people to lead healthy, substance-free lives by demonstrating the importance of mindfully building a life worth defending. His powerful message will leave our community better educated on mental health and substance use, providing practical tools and coping skills to navigate challenges, and fostering a deeper understanding of the ripple effect—how our actions influence and impact the well-being of others.
Stephen will also be speaking with some of our students on September 18, 2024 during the school day.

Attention students that have picked up their computers at Warren Area High Schoo.l this week. Please plug in th elaptops and turn them on so the updates can pull down before school starts next week.
Now, Warren County School District is making it easier to stay in touch with teachers and class information from that same app. Using the Warren CO SD app, you can easily switch from district and school information to Rooms, where you can see your student's classes and engage directly with teachers. Rooms can be accessed via the web and from our district app which is available for free and can be used from both Apple and Android phones.
Seniors! Next Tuesday at 7:00 p.m., August 20, is our second annual Senior Sprint night. Come get information to start (and finish) your Senior year strong. Local colleges will be here--NPRC, JCC and Pitt Brad--to help answer any questions you or your parents may have about their dual enrollment and college programs. Important 21st Century After School Update for the 2024-25 School Year
Unfortunately, the elementary (K-5) 21st Century after-school program will not be available this year. We are actively exploring alternative funding options, but it's unlikely that any new solutions will be ready in time for the start of the school year. Please stay tuned to the school district website and our social media channels for any updates.
On a positive note, we are thrilled to announce that the middle school after-school program, "SPARK," will continue for students in grades 6-8. This year, SPARK is getting a fresh new look based on valuable feedback from students and parents. The updated program will include more student-choice activities, offering a safe, fun space where students can unwind, explore their interests, and get support with homework and projects. Be on the lookout for flyers and registration forms, which will be sent out before school starts or use the registration link below to access the online form.
