Help celebrate 10 years of hands-on learning: Become a Youth Ambassador of Remake Learning Days Across PA!
Do you know a 9th-12th grader interested in marketing, social media content creation, event promos, or looking to build communication skills, creativity, and connection with their community? Read more below about an exciting opportunity.
In partnership with Saturday Light Brigade, the Remake Learning Days Youth Ambassador Program is an opportunity for youth to increase awareness, enthusiasm, and attendance during Remake Learning Days (RLD).
Youth Ambassadors will cover two Remake Learning Days events taking place in their region. “Coverage” of an event includes the creation of an event promo, attendance of the event, and an event review. We are looking for 100 Youth Ambassadors for the 2025 RLD Across PA festivals. Ambassadors are eligible for an honorarium of up to $250.
RLD Youth Ambassadors will receive expert guidance from SLB Radio in the form of virtual training and check-in sessions, as well as a digital toolkit with self-help resources. Successful Youth Ambassadors will think creatively and act independently as they create their promos and reviews. The key to this success is communication: students should be ready and able to stay in touch via email to communicate their needs and provide feedback.
No prior experience is necessary! All students in grades 9 – 12 are welcome to apply. Simply fill out the form below. Applications close on February 14.

When determining the need for a delay, the district carefully considers many factors to prioritize the safety and well-being of our students. We ask that you ensure your child is dressed warmly and avoid having them wait outside longer than necessary in the cold weather. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Stay safe, and we look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!

Congratulations to Adam Strandburg, WAHS senior, as our C.L.A.S.S. Act Emerging Leader nominee for the month of January 2025.
If selected by the IU5 and their sponsors, Adam will receive a $1000 scholarship with the potential of receiving another $5000 at year-end. Congratulations on a well deserved nomination Adam!
Adam has been a leader among his classmates and has proven in his academic and extracurricular endeavors that he is worthy of being a C.L.A.S.S. Act Nominee.
Adam has been an excellent academic student at WAHS, taking a challenging courseload while being involved in numerous extracurricular activities. Adam has maintained an excellent GPA while taking every advanced science and math course offered as he plans for a future career as a Mechanical Engineer.
Adam has been active in Key Club, Varsity Football, the Flannel Panel, and Varsity Tennis. Adam is well respected by both peers and adults and is a model student to have in the building.
In addition to school sponsored activities, Adam has been involved in a number of organizations outside of school. He has participated in the local Boy Scouts of America, earning the rank of Eagle Scout. This is no small feat, and through this journey, Adam has honed many valuable skills that will undoubtedly serve him well in the future. At the same time as working on his Eagle Scout rank, he has volunteered at hospice, the soup kitchen, and with the Special Olympics. These experiences have taught him the importance of empathy and teamwork, both qualities that are essential for any engineer looking to make a positive impact.
In his spare time, Adam likes to hike, bike and build. One of his favorite things that he created was when he forged and welded a fire poker out of rebar. This ability to create and craft things from scratch is just one example of how he will excel as a Mechanical Engineer.
Adam is an excellent representative for Warren Area High School, the city of Warren, and Warren County as a whole. In conclusion, Adam Strandburg is a student who combines academic success with a deep-seated sense of social responsibility.

Spring sports registration will be from January 20, 2025 - February 14, 2025 using Arbiter Sports (Family ID). For more information on registering for athletics, please visit the district's website at www.wcsdpa.org.

Winter Keystone Exams will begin starting Monday, January 6th and running through January 16th. Students testing have been made aware of their make-up testing sessions.
Tips for a successful testing session:
- Arrive early and have laptops charged and updated
- NO electronic devices are permitted in testing sessions - leave at home, or in lockers (all electronic devices brought into a testing session will have to be turned in during testing to the proctor). Exceptions are made for students using personal electronic devices for medical needs through PDE.
- Get a good night's sleep and eat breakfast the morning of testing.
To better prepare students for standardized testing, all students are not permitted to have personal electronic devices during in-class testing (cell phones, smartwatches, earbuds, etc).
Thank you for your support as students take make-up standardized tests as part of working to achieve a state required graduation pathway. For questions on graduation pathways for your individual student, please reach out to Mrs. Hahn in the Counseling Office.

We look forward to seeing everyone back as school is in session Thursday, January 2nd, 2025. A few reminders as students come back from holiday break:
- The school day starts at 7:55 a.m.
- Electronic devices (cell phones, smartwatches, earbuds, etc.) are to be kept away and not in use during instructional time
- All student sign-ins and sign-outs should occur at the main office and the front entrance during the school day.
Looking forward to seeing everyone back and to a safe and productive 2025!
