The Pre-Engineering course of study/ program provides students with "hands-on" experience on the drafting board and computer-aided drafting (CAD) system including isometric and 3-D modeling and rendering.

Math and science are vital to the Pre-Engineering course of study/ program. All required math skills are taught in the classroom. Students will master the basic skills of drafting while they progress from the drafting boards to the CAD system in nine weeks. Once on the CAD systems the instruction branches out into a variety of engineering fields including, but not limited to, Architectural, Mechanical Architectural, Mechanical, and Technical Drafting and Design.
Problem-solving abilities, positive work attitudes, and self-motivation enable the student to make the transition to employment or higher education. Many graduates of the Drafting/CAD course of study/ program pursue higher education in the engineering-related fields. Drafting/CAD graduates may also qualify for advanced placement in associated degree programs such as Penn State’s (DuBois Campus) Engineering Technology program.
Professional attitudes will be developed through the Skills USA organization and class activities.
