This program provides students with a strong foundation in early childhood education, preparing them to work in daycare centers, preschools, or as childcare providers. It equips them with the knowledge and skills needed to create a nurturing and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children, ensuring their overall well-being and growth.


Studies are wide ranging in our preparation of students and include:
Child Development Fundamentals:
Students will learn the basics of child development, including physical, cognitive, social, and emotional milestones in early childhood.
Understanding the stages of growth and development from infancy to preschool age.
Identifying and addressing common developmental challenges and delays in young children.
Curriculum Planning:
Creating developmentally appropriate lesson plans for young children, taking into consideration their age and individual needs.
Incorporating play-based learning, hands-on activities, and creative approaches to engage and stimulate young minds.
Understanding the importance of language and literacy development in early childhood.
Classroom Management and Behavior Guidance:
Techniques for managing a classroom of young children, including setting up routines, rules, and expectations.
Strategies for positive behavior guidance and conflict resolution in a developmentally sensitive manner.
Recognizing and addressing common behavioral challenges in early childhood.
Health and Safety in Early Childhood Settings:
Ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for young children, including childproofing measures and emergency procedures.
Promoting hygiene and nutrition practices that are suitable for early childhood settings.
Understanding and implementing health and safety regulations and protocols in daycare and preschool settings.
Observation and Assessment:
Techniques for observing and assessing the development and progress of young children.
Recording and documenting observations to inform parents and caregivers about a child's growth and development.
Using assessment tools and techniques to support early intervention and individualized learning plans.
